As we checked in, a 50ish man & wife, with several large traveling bags, were trying to get a room at a rate they could afford. The young man beyond the desk couldn’t find them a room at their price, but offered them a single room. Where else would they go at midnight, with all the bags? I hoped that the young man would use his creative initiative. Very sad.
